Sun Fog Photography
Have you ever started your day in a fog? This can be a great photo op. When on location at any coast in the world, I may start out the day with clear blue skies and arrive at my destination to find heavy fog. I welcome this atmospheric condition because it is part of the coastal experience in many places and also because it provides diffuse light that enhances fine art photography. Glare is reduced, the horizon often becomes invisible, and colors are soft. My favorite type of fog, is "sun fog". It occurs when the sun is shining through the fog creating a brighter fog, yet still without the glare. One of my best selling coastal landscapes was created during a sun fog. There was fog on the beach but none in the parking lot! Enjoy this sun-fog moment.
