Winter Sea Oats

This time of year there is a migration of "snow birds" here to the Florida coast. This is a vernacular describing visitors to the Sunshine state from not so sunny or warm places. Another seasonal change you will find is the dropping of the "oats" from the sea oats. The sea oats, a subtropical grass, bloom in late Spring to early Summer and drop their oats in the Winter.
